Ji-hoon visited on a Saturday when foot traffic was low. The intended spot sat beneath a residential bedroom. Baseline measurement with the shop’s existing ventilation running hit 44 dB at the shared ceiling penetration — already borderline.
We recommended a miner with a stepped fan curve rather than a linear ramp, plus an intake baffle built from melamine and acoustic foam. Installation support took one full day. Evening re-measurement at 23:00 recorded 39 dB at the ceiling point — within the client’s self-imposed limit.
Six months later the client reported no upstairs complaints. Heat during summer required a secondary exhaust fan on a timer, which we noted as a seasonal adjustment rather than a failure of the original plan.
